Liverpool winger Luiz Diaz, who missed the team's last two games due to his father's kidnapping by ELN guerrilla rebels in Colombia, has returned to training.
His father, Luis Manuel Díaz Jimenez, was abducted at gunpoint along with his wife. It is believed that the kidnapping was orchestrated by a 40-year-old female fighter known as Patricia. \
Diaz's mum has since been saved.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has emphasized that they won't pressure Diaz to return and that the decision is entirely up to him.
Colombian authorities have offered a reward for Diaz's father's return.
Despite the traumatic situation, Diaz has rejoined his team and may play against Luton Town.
Klopp dedicated a recent victory to Diaz, and there is hope for his father's release, although the ELN has not yet fulfilled its promise to do so.
The Colombian authorities continue their efforts to locate and free the kidnapped father.
