Singapore Man Suffers Insomnia Over Business Woes, Tragically Takes Wife's Life

A managing director in Singapore, David Brian Chow Kwok-Hun, suffering from insomnia due to financial concerns that later turned out to be unfounded, killed his pregnant wife Isabel Elizabeth Francis with a kitchen knife.

He believed this act would save her from potential creditors if his business failed and protect her from the shame of his suicide.

Chow, aged 35, was sentenced to seven years in jail after pleading guilty to culpable homicide, with a diminished responsibility defense.

This tragic incident occurred after he received an inaccurate financial report for his company.

The judge noted that this act was out of character for Chow, emphasizing that there was no need for further adjustments to his sentence.

His jail term would be backdated to his arrest in October 2023.
