Teenager Arrested After Armed Robbery with Karambit Knife in Jurong

  A 17-year-old teenager was arrested by the police following an armed robbery that occurred on December 18, 2025, at Jurong West Street 93. At approximately 10:35pm, the suspect allegedly used a karambit knife to threaten a victim, swinging the weapon and demanding the surrender of an iPhone and a gold ring.  Upon receiving the report, officers from the Clementi Police Division utilized police camera footage to identify the suspect. Through their investigations, they managed to arrest the teenager within 10 hours. The police also successfully recovered the knife used in the crime along with the stolen mobile phone and gold ring. The suspect is set to be charged in court on December 20, 2025, with robbery when armed or with an attempt to cause death or grievous hurt. This offence carries a heavy sentence of between five and 20 years in prison, as well as a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane.

Firefighters Battle Blaze Across Multiple Units at Chiku Road

  On December 17, 2025, a fire broke out at Chiku Road at approximately 4:00am, involving several single-storey terrace units. Upon arrival, the Singapore Civil Defence Force discovered units 8, 10, and 12 on fire, with the blaze spreading to adjacent homes. To combat the fire and prevent further spread, seven water jets were deployed along with a Combined Platform Ladder for aerial support.  The fire was brought under control and extinguished by 6:45am. In addition to the three primary units, six adjoining terrace houses (units 2, 4, 6, 14, 16, and 18) sustained varying levels of burn damage. During the operation, police and emergency responders evacuated about 20 people from the area as a safety precaution. One individual required medical assessment for smoke inhalation and was subsequently conveyed to Singapore General Hospital. 55-Year-Old Suspect Charged for Bukit Timah Restaurant Break-In

  On December 16, 2025, Singaporean Tang Hian Leng, 55, was charged with housebreaking and theft following an incident at the Korean fried chicken restaurant Oven & Fried Chicken, located at 16 Chun Tin Road in Bukit Timah. The alleged offence occurred on December 14, 2025, at approximately 1.14am, when  Tang is accused of breaking into and climbing through a toilet window to gain entry. He reportedly stole $155 from the establishment.   The police were notified at 11.42am that day. Through swift follow-up investigations, and by utilizing images from police cameras and CCTV, officers from the Clementi Police Division and the Police Operations Command Centre established Mr. Tang's identity. He was subsequently arrested within seven hours of the report being made. The offence of housebreaking and theft carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years imprisonment and a fine.

Voyeurism Charge Lands Former Sengkang General Hospital Doctor in Jail

  A doctor, Jonathan Soh Jingyao, aged 34, who previously worked at Sengkang General Hospital, has been sentenced to eight weeks in jail for a voyeurism charge despite his defence counsel arguing for a Mandatory Treatment Order (MTO). The sentencing took place on December 15. The voyeurism offense involved Soh using his phone to secretly film a woman showering in an apartment. While the relationship between Soh and the victim was redacted in court documents, a gag order protects her identity. The incident occurred on April 14, 2024. 77-Year-Old Man Charged for Cutting Bird Trap, Allowing Three Crows to Escape

  A 77-year-old Singaporean man, Tan See Chee, was charged on Tuesday, December 16, for disrupting a National Parks Board (NParks) operation after he allegedly cut the cable ties of a crow trap, allowing three birds to escape. The incident occurred near Block 181, Lorong 4 Toa Payoh, on October 20 at about 5:50 PM. Tan is accused of mischief causing disruption to the performance of a public agency's function. Police identified him two days later using CCTV footage. The police issued a statement warning that they take a "serious view" of such acts of mischief against apparatus serving public functions. Fatal Accident in Five-Vehicle Pile-Up at Yishun Junction

  A 20-year-old male motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle accident at the junction of Yishun Avenue 3 and Yishun Central on the night of December 14, around 10:20 PM. The accident involved two motorcycles, two cars, and a lorry. A second rider, a 19-year-old male motorcyclist, was taken conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Tragically, the 20-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic. Police arrested a 38-year-old male driver for dangerous driving causing death. 44 People Hospitalized After Two Double-Decker Buses Collide in Jurong West

  A major road accident involving two double-decker buses in Jurong West on the morning of December 14 resulted in a large-scale emergency response and the hospitalization of 44 people. Passers-by Risk Safety to Put Out Pickup Truck Fire Before SCDF Arrives

Four members of the public are being hailed as "heroes" after they helped contain a fire on the back of a pickup truck along Tanjong Katong Road on December 10 at 1:30 PM. A viral TikTok video by @ks83706 showed the truck's rear engulfed in flames. The footage captured four men—including a petrol station attendant with a larger extinguisher—using fire extinguishers to bring the blaze under control. The TikToker claimed the fire was out before fire trucks arrived. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed they were alerted to the fire at the junction of Tanjong Katong Road and Sandy Lane and ultimately extinguished the blaze using a hosereel. Elderly Driver Causes Four-Car Accident at Nex Shopping Mall

  A 73-year-old male driver is assisting police investigations after a four-car accident at the multi-storey carpark in NEX shopping mall on December 6, at approximately 2:30 PM. The incident, which occurred along Serangoon Central, resulted in a 66-year-old male driver and his 60-year-old female passenger being taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Eyewitness video footage, shared online, showed a silver car speeding down a ramp from the third to the second level. As it reached the second level, it violently collided with a second car, which was then flung into two other parked cars, creating a four-vehicle pile-up.
