Singapore Customs conducted an operation at a Yishun Avenue 5 car park, seizing 2,900 cartons of duty-unpaid cigarettes valued at around S$342,134.
The operation led to the arrest of a 31-year-old Singaporean man who was allegedly hired to collect and deliver the illicit cigarettes.
Court proceedings are ongoing, and offenders can face fines up to 40 times the evaded duty and tax, along with a maximum jail term of six years.
Singapore Customs encourages the public to report smuggling activities through its website.
