A 38-year-old Singaporean man is facing charges for dragging an Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officer at Woodlands Checkpoint.
During a fuel gauge check, the officer noticed the driver's fuel tank was below the required three-quarters level.
When instructed to hand over his passport and follow the officer to the ICA Duty Office, the driver refused, accelerated forward, and dragged the officer, causing bodily pain.
The driver will be charged with causing hurt by a rash act and could face jail, a fine, or both.
Strict enforcement is emphasized for motorists at checkpoints, with violations leading to penalties and potential turn-backs.
