A 39-year-old man has been apprehended by the police for his suspected involvement in a case of reckless driving causing injury.
The incident occurred on March 2, 2024, at around 6:35 am, when the police received a report of a car parked in the middle of the road with an unresponsive individual inside.
Upon engaging with the police, the man allegedly started the car's engine and abruptly drove off, running over a police officer's left foot in the process.
Through diligent investigations and the assistance of police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Tanglin Police Division successfully identified and arrested the suspect on March 4, 2024.
The man is set to be charged in court on March 5, 2024, under Section 337(a) of the Penal Code 1871 for reckless conduct causing injury. If convicted, he could face imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of up to S$5,000, or both.
