Aye Aye Aung, a 32-year-old woman from Myanmar, faced charges in March 2024 for allegedly physically abusing a bedridden elderly woman she was caring for in a unit at Block 106 Jalan Rajah, Whampoa.
The charges detail incidents from February 23 and 27, including slapping, punching, and stepping on the victim.
The prosecution sought a week's adjournment to complete investigations and may tender additional charges based on a medical report from Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Aye Aye Aung faces two counts of voluntarily causing hurt to a vulnerable person and has been offered bail of S$15,000.
She is scheduled to appear in court again on Mar 11, and if convicted, she could face imprisonment for up to three years and fines of up to S$5,000, with potential for higher penalties due to the victim's vulnerable status.
