Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Suspect in Loanshark Harassment Case at Yishun

A 20-year-old man has been apprehended by the police for his alleged involvement in loanshark harassment incidents.

The arrest follows a report of harassment at a residential unit in Yishun Avenue 4, where paint splashing and a debtor’s note were discovered.

Through investigations, officers from Woodlands Police Division identified the suspect and apprehended him in the vicinity of Woodlands Central.

Further inquiries revealed his alleged involvement in another harassment case in Jurong West Central 1. The man will face charges under the Moneylenders Act 2008, with potential fines, imprisonment, and caning.

Authorities emphasize a zero-tolerance stance on loanshark activities, urging the public to avoid any association with such illegal practices and to report any suspicions to the police.
