Mitchell Ong, a 43-year-old Singaporean, is being held in custody in Spain, accused of murdering fellow Singaporean Audrey Fang.
Ong was arrested after a grey Nissan Qashqai he rented was seen on CCTV near where Fang’s body was discovered on April 10 in an almond grove off the RM-422 highway in Abanilla.
Fang had been stabbed 30 times and suffered head trauma.
The vehicle was parked at the crime scene for 18 minutes on the evening of April 9, the day Fang disappeared.
Further investigations have linked Ong and Fang’s mobile phones to the same location at the time of the murder, and Ong's sneakers matched footprints at the scene.
Spanish authorities are continuing their investigation, focusing on possible economic motives behind the killing. Image Credit: instagram/strongestasian
