A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness after an alarming incident involving an armored vehicle.
Early on May 3, 2024, the man attempted to enter the vehicle while officers from the Auxiliary Police Force were loading it with cash cartridges on Queen Street.
After being asked to leave, he later grabbed onto the vehicle’s rear as it traveled from Victoria Street to Stamford Road, a distance of about 850 meters.
He detached himself and walked away when the vehicle stopped.
Police captured him within two hours along Stamford Road.
Set for a court appearance on May 4, he faces charges under the Liquor Control Act, which may result in a fine, imprisonment, or both. The police have emphasized the seriousness of such reckless behaviors that endanger public safety.
