Singapore Police have detained two individuals, aged 19 and 24, linked to loansharking activities after a residential gate was locked with a bicycle lock in Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 on April 26, 2024.
With assistance from CCTV footage, the Ang Mo Kio Police Division officers identified and arrested the suspects on May 4, 2024, in Jurong West Street 52.
They are also suspected in another similar incident. Facing charges under the Moneylenders Act 2008, the accused could receive penalties including a fine ranging from $5,000 to $50,000, up to five years in prison, and up to six strokes of the cane.
