Woman Charged with Murder at City Gate Residences

 


Li Ye, a 37-year-old from China, has been charged with the murder of 56-year-old Lim Lai Guan at City Gate Residences on Beach Road.

The incident occurred around 1:40 am on May 8. While the nature of their relationship is unconfirmed, reports suggest Li was Lim’s girlfriend.

During her court appearance via video link, Li contended that she committed manslaughter, not murder.

The court has ordered her to remain in custody for further investigation, with a follow-up hearing scheduled for May 16.

Authorities discovered Lim unconscious in his condominium, he later died in the hospital.

A knife was recovered at the scene.
