A 41-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering a 48-year-old woman in Singapore. On September 7, 2024, at 1:36 am, the man went to Bukit Merah East Neighbourhood Police Centre and reported to officers that he had stabbed a woman.
Police were immediately dispatched to Maxwell food centre along Kadayanallur Street, where they found the woman lying motionless. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that the man and the woman knew each other. The incident occurred at the "Dao Xiang Ju" food stall.
The suspect will be charged with murder on September 8, 2024, under Section 302(1) of the Penal Code 1871, which carries the death penalty. Police investigations are ongoing.
