The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has detected Bacillus cereus (B. cereus), a bacteria that can cause food poisoning, in Four Seasons Durian's Mini D24 Durian Mooncake at levels exceeding the legal limit. As a precaution, SFA has instructed the manufacturer, Four Seasons Durian Pte Ltd, to recall the affected mooncakes.
B. cereus is commonly found in the environment and can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. Consumers are advised not to eat the affected mooncakes and to seek medical advice if they feel unwell. For any questions, consumers should contact the place of purchase.
