They face charges for various offences, including working without valid work permits, suspected drink driving, driving without a valid license or insurance, drug-related offences, and possession of scheduled weapons.

Another 11 men, aged between 29 and 62, are under investigation for possession of e-vaporisers, breaches of the Fire Safety Act 1993, and violations of the Environmental Public Health (Food Hygiene) Regulations. Additionally, two entertainment outlets are being investigated for violating public entertainment licensing conditions.

The operation was spearheaded by the Bedok Police Division with support from the Traffic Police, Police K-9 Unit, Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), Health Sciences Authority (HSA), Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA). While Joo Chiat’s law and order situation has seen improvements over the years, it remains a hotspot for public entertainment outlets. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to suppress illicit activities and ensure compliance with regulations. Items seized during the operation include drugs, weapons, and prohibited e-vaporisers. Deputy Superintendent of Police Benjamin Tan, Commanding Officer of Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre, emphasized the importance of enforcement and community cooperation. “Public entertainment licensing breaches and unlawful activities will be sternly dealt with by the Police. The law and order situation in Joo Chiat has improved, but we will continue to act swiftly against any violations.”

This operation highlights Singapore’s commitment to maintaining safety and public order through close collaboration among enforcement agencies.
