Malaysia Tragic Crash as Singaporean Couple Ride Ends in Heartbreak

A tragic motorcycle accident on December 10, 2024, claimed the life of a 21-year-old Singaporean woman and left her 23-year-old boyfriend seriously injured. The accident occurred on the North-South Expressway near Sedenak, as the couple was traveling back to Singapore from Kuala Lumpur on a high-powered motorcycle.

The Kulai police were notified of the incident at around 9:15 a.m. According to Kulai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee, the motorcyclist lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a steel road divider. The pillion rider, who sustained severe head injuries, was pronounced dead at the scene. The rider, meanwhile, suffered leg injuries and was taken to the Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Kulai Hospital.

The couple’s ill-fated journey highlights the dangers of high-speed travel on highways. While investigations are ongoing, it is believed that the motorcyclist’s loss of control led to the fatal crash. Emergency responders acted swiftly to transport the deceased and the injured rider to the hospital.

The tragedy has left a lasting impact on both families and the broader community, serving as a somber reminder of the need for road safety and caution when traveling on expressways.

However, the leakage has already caused significant damage to the flat's walls and paintwork, leaving the homeowner distressed. Adding to the frustration, the main contractor advised the homeowner to avoid using the affected power switches in the living room and bedroom due to the risk of a short circuit. Despite the warning, the homeowner has no choice but to turn on the light...

These unauthorized services operated both within Singapore and across the border to Malaysia, posing significant risks to passengers. The LTA has issued a stern warning to the public, advising against using such illegal services due to the lack of proper licensing and insurance, which can leave passengers vulnerable in the event of accidents. The operation underscores LTA’s commitment to ensuring the safety and regulation of ride-hailing services in Singapore. Drivers caught offering illegal ride-hailing services without a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Licence face severe penalties, including fines of up to $3,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both. These measures are in place to deter unlicensed operators and protect passengers from potential harm. Illegal ride-hailing services oft...
