Up to $285 in Rebates for HDB Households This January

 


Over 950,000 Singaporean households residing in Housing Board (HDB) flats will receive financial support through rebates on utility bills and service and conservancy charges (S&CC) this January. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to alleviate the rising cost of living.

Utility Rebates (U-Save)

Eligible households will receive up to $285 in U-Save rebates to offset their utility bills. The amount provided varies by flat type:

  • One- and two-room flats: $95 in U-Save rebates.
  • Four-room flats: $75 in U-Save rebates.

S&CC Rebates

In addition, households will benefit from S&CC rebates:

  • One- and two-room flats: Half a month of S&CC rebates.
  • Four-room flats: Half a month of S&CC rebates.

These rebates will be automatically credited to the eligible households’ accounts with SP Services (for U-Save rebates) and their respective town councils (for S&CC rebates).

Annual Aid Breakdown

For financial year 2024, eligible households will receive 2.5 times the regular U-Save amount, amounting to up to $950.

  • This support will cover about eight months of utility bills for households in one- and two-room flats.
  • For three- and four-room flats, the rebates will offset about four months of utility bills on average.

Permanent GST Voucher Scheme

These rebates are part of the permanent GST Voucher scheme, aimed at assisting lower- and middle-income households. The scheme helps mitigate the impact of rising living costs and the recent goods and services tax (GST) hike.

Rebates under this scheme are distributed quarterly in April, July, October, and January.

Queue-Cutting Toyota Raize Causes Chain Collision at Second Link
