Indonesian Man Arrested After Exposing Himself on Flight to Plead Guilty

A 23-year-old Indonesian man, Brilliant Angjaya, has been charged in Singapore for exposing himself to a cabin crew member during a flight. The incident occurred on January 23, when Angjaya allegedly unzipped his pants and exposed his genitals while seated.

According to a police news release on March 8, investigations revealed that Angjaya had covered himself with a blanket and set up his mobile phone in video recording mode before revealing himself to a female flight attendant as she was serving his meal. Shocked by the act, the flight attendant quickly distanced herself and reported the matter to her supervisor.

Upon the aircraft’s arrival at Changi Airport, airport police arrested Angjaya, and his mobile phone was seized as part of the investigation. The nature of the footage recorded on the device has not been disclosed.

Angjaya appeared in court on March 12, where he stated that he intended to plead guilty. Expressing remorse, he apologized for his actions and requested that the court process be expedited, citing that he had already been in Singapore for 1.5 months. District Judge Kamala Ponnampalam informed him that the prosecution required additional time and had requested a three-week adjournment. She also inquired if he was in Singapore as a visitor, to which he replied that he was in transit. His next court hearing is scheduled for March 24.

Under Singapore’s Penal Code, the offense of sexual exposure carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail, a fine, or both. Given the circumstances of the case, Angjaya could face strict sentencing if found guilty.

In recent years, Singapore has taken a firm stance against inappropriate behavior on flights and in public spaces. The country’s legal system has strict laws against sexual offenses, ensuring that individuals engaging in such acts are held accountable.

The case highlights concerns about the safety of flight attendants, who often face harassment in their line of duty. Airlines and aviation authorities continue to implement policies to protect crew members, including strict reporting protocols and swift legal actions against offenders.

As the investigation continues, Angjaya remains in custody, awaiting his next court appearance. The prosecution's stance and possible sentencing outcomes will be closely watched, particularly given Singapore's strong legal stance against such offenses.

Water has been observed seeping from an electrical powerpoint, with puddles forming on the floor and walls showing bubbling and signs of damage from moisture. The source of the leak appears to be an external wall adjacent to the master bedroom, according to assessments by the main contractor. However, the leakage has already caused significant damage to the flat's walls and paintwork, leaving the homeowner distressed. Adding to the frustration, the main contractor advised the homeowner to avoid using the affected power switches in the living room and bedroom due to the risk of a short circuit. Despite the warning, the homeowner has no choice but to turn on the light...

Crackdown on Illegal Ride-Hailing with 4 Drivers Caught in LTA Operation

In a recent operation conducted by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore, four drivers were caught and had their vehicles impounded for providing illegal ride-hailing services. These unauthorized services operated both within Singapore and across the border to Malaysia, posing significant risks to passengers. The LTA has issued a stern warning to the public, advising against using such illegal services due to the lack of proper licensing and insurance, which can leave passengers vulnerable in the event of accidents. The operation underscores LTA’s commitment to ensuring the safety and regulation of ride-hailing services in Singapore. Drivers caught offering illegal ride-hailing services without a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Licence face severe penalties, including fines of up to $3,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both. These measures are in place to deter unlicensed operators and protect passengers from potential harm. Illegal ride-hailing services oft...
