Singaporean Man Wanted in Bangkok for Murder of Thai Girlfriend Case

Thai police are searching for a Singaporean man suspected of murdering his Thai girlfriend in a luxury hotel in downtown Bangkok. The body of the victim, a 30-year-old woman from Khon Kaen province named Prao-Pilas, was discovered in a bathroom at a 50-story hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 39, Watthana District, Bangkok. Officers from Thonglor Police Station received a report at approximately 6:20 p.m. on March 26 and launched an investigation into the case.

Forensic experts and emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the victim wrapped in a blanket and bed sheet. She was unclothed, and there were visible wounds on her head with traces of blood. Several of her luxury possessions, including a handbag and an expensive watch, were missing from the hotel room. Officials collected other items from the room as evidence to assist in the investigation.

The police interviewed two of the victim’s friends, Suthida Lueamsai, 31, from Khon Kaen, and Emwika Makthi, 34, from Mahasarakham. They had been unable to contact Prao-Pilas since March 24, raising concerns for her safety. Emwika reported the missing person case at Thonglor Police Station before heading to the hotel with management staff. Upon arrival, they found the door unlocked, the air conditioning running, and Prao-Pilas deceased inside the bathroom.

Friends of the victim revealed that she had been in a relationship with a 32-year-old Singaporean man named Daniel. Although their social media posts portrayed a seemingly happy relationship, she had confided in friends about frequent arguments and physical abuse from her boyfriend.

Authorities reviewed hotel CCTV footage to trace Daniel’s movements. On March 23 at approximately 6:42 p.m., the couple was seen leaving their hotel room together. Later that night, at around 9:17 p.m., Daniel was captured escorting Prao-Pilas back to the room. Footage from March 24 at 12:12 a.m. showed Daniel returning alone via the elevator. The last recorded footage of him was on March 25 at 3:15 p.m. when he was seen leaving the hotel with luggage and departing in a black Mercedes-Benz.

Thai police are now reviewing additional CCTV footage and working to track down the suspect. Investigators are focusing on the timeline leading up to the victim’s death and whether Daniel fled Thailand following the incident. Given the severity of the case, authorities are expected to cooperate with international law enforcement if necessary to locate the suspect.

This case has drawn significant attention due to its brutal nature and the involvement of a foreign national. Officials are urging anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward as they work to resolve the investigation.

A Punggol Northshore BTO homeowner, who moved into his newly renovated flat in July 2024, has voiced frustration over severe water leakage issues that have left his unit unsafe and unlivable. Water has been observed seeping from an electrical powerpoint, with puddles forming on the floor and walls showing bubbling and signs of damage from moisture. The source of the leak appears to be an external wall adjacent to the master bedroom, according to assessments by the main contractor. However, the leakage has already caused significant damage to the flat's walls and paintwork, leaving the homeowner distressed. Adding to the frustration, the main contractor advised the homeowner to avoid using the affected power switches in the living room and bedroom due to the risk of a short circuit. Despite the warning, the homeowner has no choice but to turn on the light...

Crackdown on Illegal Ride-Hailing with 4 Drivers Caught in LTA Operation

In a recent operation conducted by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore, four drivers were caught and had their vehicles impounded for providing illegal ride-hailing services. These unauthorized services operated both within Singapore and across the border to Malaysia, posing significant risks to passengers. The LTA has issued a stern warning to the public, advising against using such illegal services due to the lack of proper licensing and insurance, which can leave passengers vulnerable in the event of accidents. The operation underscores LTA’s commitment to ensuring the safety and regulation of ride-hailing services in Singapore. Drivers caught offering illegal ride-hailing services without a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Licence face severe penalties, including fines of up to $3,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both. These measures are in place to deter unlicensed operators and protect passengers from potential harm. Illegal ride-hailing services oft...
