Police investigations indicate that he had initially befriended the girl online before committing the acts.

Aloysius Lim Jia En, 25, is facing eight charges for the sexual penetration of a minor under 16. Authorities state that he had contacted the girl online and paid her for sexual services on multiple occasions. The offenses reportedly took place in a residential flat between November and December 2023.

George Lee Ji Qiang, 22, has been charged with possessing child abuse material and obscene films. Investigators found at least 100 videos containing child exploitation content and 55 obscene films on his mobile phone.

Three other men—Hairil Fitri Hairulsahfudin (30), Michael Li Qing’An (41), and Tan Jia Jun (35) each face one charge for possessing child abuse material. Court documents state that each of them had at least 100 illegal files stored on their electronic devices.

If convicted, they could face severe penalties under Singapore law.

Those found guilty of commercial sex with a minor under 18 may be jailed for up to seven years and fined. Sexual penetration of a minor under 16 carries a maximum sentence of 20 years’ imprisonment, along with possible caning. Possession of child abuse material is punishable by up to five years in jail, fines, and caning.

The case highlights the serious consequences of child exploitation offenses in Singapore, where authorities take a strong stance against such crimes. It also underscores the risks of online grooming and the importance of safeguarding minors from predatory behavior.
