Man Stabs Male Partner Over Dispute, Found Dead Below HDB Block

On the evening of June 21, 2025, at approximately 7:40pm, a violent incident occurred at Block 684A, Woodlands Drive 73, Singapore, resulting in the death of a 33-year-old man and serious injuries to a 31-year-old man. The case is believed to stem from a personal dispute, possibly linked to a romantic relationship.

Residents and eyewitnesses reported a loud thud at around 7:30pm, followed shortly by the arrival of multiple police vehicles and emergency responders. When reporters arrived at the scene, the Singapore Police Force had cordoned off the area extensively. A blue tent was set up near the letterboxes of the HDB block to shield the body from public view.

Close to the location of the deceased, a knife was discovered lying on the grass. The weapon appeared new, and there were no visible traces of blood on its blade. Initial assessments suggest the knife may have been discarded from a window prior to the fall.

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the two men were involved in a heated argument inside the HDB unit. It was reported that the 33-year-old man used a knife to attack the 31-year-old man during the confrontation. After the altercation, the injured 31-year-old was transported conscious to Woodlands Health Campus. He is currently receiving medical attention for the injuries sustained.

The 33-year-old man was subsequently found motionless on the ground level of the block, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Early police findings ruled out foul play in his death. Investigators believe he may have fled the unit after stabbing the victim and jumped from a high floor, ending his life.

Neighbours reported that the unit where the incident occurred was occupied by a Chinese mother and her son, though a Malay man was frequently seen entering and exiting the residence. This aligns with assumptions that the deceased was not a registered occupant of the unit but may have been romantically involved with the injured party.

Unconfirmed reports from the neighbourhood suggest that the incident stemmed from a relationship dispute. The altercation escalated to violence, culminating in the knife attack and the fatal fall. The man who fell was not a resident of the block, further indicating that he may have been visiting during the time of the incident.

In response to media queries, both the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed they were alerted to the case. The authorities swiftly secured the scene and launched a detailed investigation. Based on initial evidence, the police ruled out the possibility of murder and are treating the case as an unnatural death pending further findings.

The knife found on the grass appears to have been thrown out of the unit window, possibly moments before the fall occurred. The deceased is suspected to have exited the unit and jumped from the building shortly afterward.

As of June 22, 2025, investigations are ongoing. Authorities have urged the public to refrain from speculation and to allow official procedures to conclude.
