Ferry Passenger Misjudges Jump, Plunges Into Water

BANGKOK – A moment of haste turned into a viral spectacle this week when a man in Bangkok attempted to jump off a ferry before it had properly docked, only to plunge straight into the water. The dramatic fall, which was captured in a TikTok video posted by user @jumbok7, has since made its rounds online, drawing both amusement and praise for the quick actions of ferry officials.

The incident occurred on Monday at the Terminal 21 ferry pier in Bangkok. As the ferry approached the dock and passengers were preparing to disembark, one individual, dressed in black, was seen in the video rushing to be among the first to leave. Misjudging both his timing and the ferry’s distance from the platform, the man leapt off prematurely and fell directly into the canal.

The short video shows onlookers gasping in shock as the man splashed into the murky water. Fortunately, nearby officials reacted instantly, rushing over to pull him from the water. He was rescued swiftly and did not sustain any injuries. While visibly soaked, he was able to walk away from the scene unharmed.

Eyewitnesses and netizens alike were quick to point out the importance of exercising caution around water transport, especially when ferries are in the process of docking. Several online users commended the ferry staff for their alertness and fast response, which likely prevented the situation from escalating into a more serious accident.

The video quickly gained viral traction across multiple platforms, with thousands of views and comments pouring in. Viewers expressed a mix of concern, humor, and appreciation for the professionalism displayed by the pier authorities.

There have been no reports of legal or disciplinary action taken against the man, and no formal complaint or police involvement has been mentioned.

Though the situation ended without injury or legal consequence, it serves as a strong reminder of the potential dangers associated with impatience or reckless behavior around public transportation infrastructure.

Authorities have not issued an official statement as of yet, but public discussions continue online about how this could have gone very differently under less fortunate circumstances.

Water has been observed seeping from an electrical powerpoint, with puddles forming on the floor and walls showing bubbling and signs of damage from moisture. The source of the leak appears to be an external wall adjacent to the master bedroom, according to assessments by the main contractor. However, the leakage has already caused significant damage to the flat's walls and paintwork, leaving the homeowner distressed. Adding to the frustration, the main contractor advised the homeowner to avoid using the affected power switches in the living room and bedroom due to the risk of a short circuit. Despite the warning, the homeowner has no choice but to turn on the light...

Crackdown on Illegal Ride-Hailing with 4 Drivers Caught in LTA Operation

In a recent operation conducted by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore, four drivers were caught and had their vehicles impounded for providing illegal ride-hailing services. These unauthorized services operated both within Singapore and across the border to Malaysia, posing significant risks to passengers. The LTA has issued a stern warning to the public, advising against using such illegal services due to the lack of proper licensing and insurance, which can leave passengers vulnerable in the event of accidents. The operation underscores LTA’s commitment to ensuring the safety and regulation of ride-hailing services in Singapore. Drivers caught offering illegal ride-hailing services without a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Licence face severe penalties, including fines of up to $3,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both. These measures are in place to deter unlicensed operators and protect passengers from potential harm. Illegal ride-hailing services oft...
