The Land Transport Authority (LTA) and PUB announced on 1 August 2025 that safety checks and repair works at Tanjong Katong Road South have been completed following a sinkhole incident. In collaboration with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), the area was declared safe for public use after rigorous underground assessments, including radar, seismic, and void checks. Liquefied stabilised soil was used to reinforce the ground.
The segment from East Coast Parkway to Mountbatten Road will reopen on Saturday, 2 August 2025 at 12pm, and the opposite direction will open on Monday, 4 August at 5am. Bus services 36 and 48 will return to normal routing accordingly. Though traffic flow will resume, motorists should note that utility repairs and upgrades in the area will continue. The agencies thanked the public for their patience during the closure.
