21-Year-Old Filmed 14 Victims in 5-Month Voyeurism Spree

A 21-year-old man has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of voyeurism after conducting a five-month spree of secretly recording unsuspecting victims in various locations across Singapore. Javier Lee Kah Chuan admitted to six charges of voyeurism on September 10, 2025, with an additional eight charges to be considered during his sentencing, which is scheduled for October.

The offenses occurred between July and November of 2022, targeting victims in both public and private spaces. The locations included Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, a coffee shop in Jurong, a bar on Prinsep Street, and a gym in Farrer Park. The pattern of behavior demonstrated a calculated effort to invade the privacy of individuals during vulnerable moments.

A significant portion of the offenses took place while Lee was employed at Body Fit Training (BFT) Farrer Park. According to the prosecution, during September and November of 2022, Lee took voyeuristic videos of three different women showering at the gym on separate occasions. He additionally recorded another woman using the toilet facilities at the same gym. His actions at the fitness facility first came under suspicion on September 15, 2022, when a staff member reported a possible voyeurism case to the police after a woman reported seeing a mobile phone appearing and disappearing from the gap of her toilet cubicle. Although police responded and interviewed the victim, Lee's involvement was not discovered at that time.

Beyond the gym, Lee's activities extended to other venues. In July 2022, he recorded victims using the toilet at a bar located on Prinsep Street. One of these recordings was even deliberately set to capture a victim in slow motion, indicating a deliberate and focused intent to invade privacy. The pattern continued on November 27, 2022, when Lee attended a sports competition at Taman Jurong Park. There, he observed two of his female friends walking toward a nearby coffee shop to use the restroom. He followed them and recorded them from outside their toilet cubicles. He repeated this behavior twice more that same day with different victims.

It was during this final incident that Lee was finally apprehended. One of his victims caught him in the act, seized his phone as evidence, and immediately reported the incident to the police. This intervention ended his five-month series of violations. In response to inquiries, a spokesperson for Body Fit Training Farrer Park confirmed that Lee is no longer employed at the establishment. The spokesperson clarified that Lee had been employed under the gym's previous management, which changed ownership in December 2024, after all the offenses had been committed. The judge has called for a probation suitability report before determining the final sentence. Those convicted of voyeurism in Singapore face severe penalties, including imprisonment for up to two years, fines, caning, or any combination of these punishments.

New Punggol Northshore BTO Plagued by Water Seepage and Electrical Hazards

***Update: HDB, Maincon and Consultant has came down to the unit to check. Will update on status once we have more information. A Punggol Northshore BTO homeowner, who moved into his newly renovated flat in July 2024, has voiced frustration over severe water leakage issues that have left his unit unsafe and unlivable. Water has been observed seeping from an electrical powerpoint, with puddles forming on the floor and walls showing bubbling and signs of damage from moisture. The source of the leak appears to be an external wall adjacent to the master bedroom, according to assessments by the main contractor. However, the leakage has already caused significant damage to the flat's walls and paintwork, leaving the homeowner distressed. Adding to the frustration, the main contractor advised the homeowner to avoid using the affected power switches in the living room and bedroom due to the risk of a short circuit. Despite the warning, the homeowner has no choice but to turn on the light...

Crackdown on Illegal Ride-Hailing with 4 Drivers Caught in LTA Operation

In a recent operation conducted by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore, four drivers were caught and had their vehicles impounded for providing illegal ride-hailing services. These unauthorized services operated both within Singapore and across the border to Malaysia, posing significant risks to passengers. The LTA has issued a stern warning to the public, advising against using such illegal services due to the lack of proper licensing and insurance, which can leave passengers vulnerable in the event of accidents. The operation underscores LTA’s commitment to ensuring the safety and regulation of ride-hailing services in Singapore. Drivers caught offering illegal ride-hailing services without a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Licence face severe penalties, including fines of up to $3,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both. These measures are in place to deter unlicensed operators and protect passengers from potential harm. Illegal ride-hailing services oft...
