74 Arrested in Week-Long, Island-Wide Operation

The Central Narcotics Bureau of Singapore concluded a major five-day anti-drug operation spanning from October 13th to October 17th, 2025, resulting in the arrest of 74 individuals suspected of various drug offenses. The extensive island-wide operation covered multiple residential areas including Ang Mo Kio, Balestier, Clementi, Punggol, Woodlands, and Yishun, leading to the seizure of substantial quantities of controlled substances and vaping products.

During the coordinated enforcement action, authorities confiscated a significant assortment of illegal drugs with an estimated street value exceeding $68,000. The seized substances included 2,504 grams of cannabis, 158 grams of ketamine, 76 grams of heroin, 73 grams of 'Ice' methamphetamine, 12 grams of 'Ecstasy', 40 Erimin-5 tablets, and numerous vaping-related products. Among the vaping items were 42 electronic vaporiser pods believed to contain etomidate, a controlled substance that has recently become a focus of law enforcement efforts. The quantity of heroin, 'Ice', and cannabis seized was substantial enough to potentially sustain the addictions of 436 drug abusers for an entire week.

One of the operation's significant breakthroughs occurred on the evening of October 13th in Yishun, where CNB officers intercepted a motorcycle at a junction along Yishun Avenue 1. The rider, a 36-year-old Singaporean male, was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking offenses. A subsequent search of both the individual and his vehicle revealed a large cache of drugs, including 2,369 grams of cannabis, 156 grams of ketamine, 11 grams of 'Ice', 11 grams of 'Ecstasy', 40 Erimin-5 tablets, and various drug paraphernalia.

Later the same evening, follow-up investigations led CNB officers to Compassvale Walk, where they arrested a 27-year-old Singaporean man also suspected of drug trafficking. Additional drug-related equipment was seized from his residence in the Punggol area.

The operation continued on October 15th in Clementi, where authorities encountered a particularly concerning situation. Officers arrested a 26-year-old Singaporean woman for suspected drug trafficking offenses while she was accompanied by her 19-month-old daughter. During the arrest, authorities discovered seven e-vaporiser pods and two e-vaporisers believed to contain etomidate. CNB officers ensured appropriate arrangements were made for the welfare and care of the young child.

A subsequent raid on the woman's residential unit in the same vicinity led to the arrest of a married couple, a 27-year-old Singaporean man and a 30-year-old Singaporean woman, both suspected of drug trafficking offenses. The female suspect reportedly resisted arrest violently, resulting in injuries to two CNB officers. The search of their residence yielded 27 additional e-vaporiser pods suspected to contain etomidate, one e-vaporiser, and more drug paraphernalia. The 30-year-old woman faces additional charges for voluntarily causing hurt to public servants performing their duties.

New Punggol Northshore BTO Plagued by Water Seepage and Electrical Hazards

***Update: HDB, Maincon and Consultant has came down to the unit to check. Will update on status once we have more information. A Punggol Northshore BTO homeowner, who moved into his newly renovated flat in July 2024, has voiced frustration over severe water leakage issues that have left his unit unsafe and unlivable. Water has been observed seeping from an electrical powerpoint, with puddles forming on the floor and walls showing bubbling and signs of damage from moisture. The source of the leak appears to be an external wall adjacent to the master bedroom, according to assessments by the main contractor. However, the leakage has already caused significant damage to the flat's walls and paintwork, leaving the homeowner distressed. Adding to the frustration, the main contractor advised the homeowner to avoid using the affected power switches in the living room and bedroom due to the risk of a short circuit. Despite the warning, the homeowner has no choice but to turn on the light...

Crackdown on Illegal Ride-Hailing with 4 Drivers Caught in LTA Operation

In a recent operation conducted by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore, four drivers were caught and had their vehicles impounded for providing illegal ride-hailing services. These unauthorized services operated both within Singapore and across the border to Malaysia, posing significant risks to passengers. The LTA has issued a stern warning to the public, advising against using such illegal services due to the lack of proper licensing and insurance, which can leave passengers vulnerable in the event of accidents. The operation underscores LTA’s commitment to ensuring the safety and regulation of ride-hailing services in Singapore. Drivers caught offering illegal ride-hailing services without a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Licence face severe penalties, including fines of up to $3,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both. These measures are in place to deter unlicensed operators and protect passengers from potential harm. Illegal ride-hailing services oft...
