Boon Lay Flat Set on Fire in Loanshark Attack, 3 Youths Arrested

Three teenagers, aged 14 and 15, have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a loanshark harassment case in Boon Lay on September 24. The police were alerted to a residential unit where the main door and gate had been set on fire, and loanshark graffiti was scribbled on a nearby wall. Using images from police cameras, officers from the Jurong Police Division and the Criminal Investigation Department identified and arrested the trio within six hours. A mobile phone, a marker, and clothing were seized. The police warned that youths will not be treated leniently for such crimes, which carry severe penalties including fines, jail time, and caning. Investigations are ongoing.

  A twenty seven year old Sri Lankan national was apprehended by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority during a strategic pre-dawn operation on April 8 2026.
