Singapore Car Rips Off Fuel Pump in Johor

A Singapore-registered vehicle was involved in an incident at a Shell petrol station along Skudai Highway in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, resulting in significant damage to fueling equipment. The event occurred at approximately 10:15 PM on Saturday, October 18th, when the driver apparently drove away from the pump with the fuel nozzle still connected to the vehicle.

According to an eyewitness who recorded the aftermath and shared details on social media, the situation began when her parents were refueling their vehicle at the station. Suddenly, a loud noise startled everyone present, drawing attention to the Singapore-registered car that had pulled the fuel pump from its housing. The force of the vehicle's movement allegedly dislodged and damaged the petrol pump unit, leaving it visibly tilted and malfunctioning.

The driver immediately stopped and exited the vehicle to assess the damage caused by the incident. Station staff responded quickly, with a female employee reportedly preventing the driver from leaving the premises before the situation could be properly addressed. The eyewitness described concerns among those present about potential safety risks, including fears that the damaged equipment might pose an explosion hazard due to the flammable nature of petroleum products.

Video footage from the scene shows other customers reacting to the incident, with one nearby vehicle reversing away from the damaged pump as a precautionary measure. Two station employees were seen rushing to the affected area to secure the site and assess the damage. The entire fueling bay where the incident occurred had to be temporarily closed for safety inspections and repairs, disrupting the station's operations.

The eyewitness noted that even if the driver had attempted to leave the scene without addressing the damage, surveillance cameras throughout the petrol station would have captured the vehicle's license plate and the entire sequence of events. She also acknowledged that recording the incident with a mobile phone violated station safety rules, but explained it was a spontaneous decision to document what had transpired.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of following proper procedures when refueling vehicles and the potential consequences of simple oversights. No injuries were reported from the incident, though the financial cost of repairing the damaged equipment remains uncertain.

She would then use a photo editing application to alter the resulting transaction screenshot, making it falsely appear as if the money had been successfully sent to the restaurant or salon. In some cases, she even edited the sender details to make it look like the payments originated from different accounts. 1. House of Seafood (May 2022 – August 20...
