Viral Police Report Accuses Tan Tock Seng Hospital of Unlawful Restraint

 



A serious allegation against Tan Tock Seng Hospital has emerged online through a viral social media post by Olivia Tang on October 19th, 2025. The post contained an image of a formal police report filed regarding an incident that allegedly occurred at the hospital on October 10th, 2025.

According to the police report shared by Tang, the situation unfolded when she was reportedly subjected to what she describes as a forcible medical procedure one day before her scheduled discharge from the hospital. She alleges that a doctor directed approximately ten hospital staff members and AETOS security officers to physically restrain her. In her account, her hospital gown was torn open, and she was administered an injection containing an unknown substance without her explicit consent.

The justification provided for this action, according to Tang's police report, was that she was deemed to be of unsound mind under the Mental Health Act. This classification allegedly resulted in her being denied contact with family members or a legal spokesperson during the incident. Following this event at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Tang claims she was forcibly transferred to Institute of Mental Health, where she was immediately assessed, found to be of sound mind, and subsequently discharged.

In her social media caption accompanying the police report, Tang expressed that her decision to file the report stemmed from pain, humiliation, and trauma rather than anger. She emphasized her initial trust in the healthcare system and described the deep emotional impact of her experience, stating that she seeks accountability and basic human dignity through legal channels.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital issued an official response to these allegations on October 21st, 2025, through their social media channels. The hospital acknowledged the online posts and confirmed they are treating the allegations with seriousness. However, the hospital maintained that their clinical team's actions were guided by their primary duty to ensure patient safety and wellbeing.

The hospital stated that their staff acted swiftly and responsibly out of genuine concern for the patient's protection under the circumstances. While respecting individuals' rights to share their experiences, the hospital expressed concern about the representation of events and the identification of their staff member online. They emphasized their healthcare workers' professionalism, compassion, and integrity and stated they would not tolerate harassment or false accusations directed at their staff. The hospital confirmed they are in communication with the patient and her family while reaffirming their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and care.
