Fatal Accident Involving Cyclist and Tower Transit Service 859


A fatal road traffic accident occurred on the morning of November 29, 2025, in northern Singapore, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old cyclist. The incident involved a public bus operated by Tower Transit.

The Accident and Immediate Aftermath

The police were alerted to the accident at approximately 10:55 am along Admiralty Drive towards Sembawang Road.

  • Scene Details: The Chinese-language news outlet Shin Min Daily News quoted a resident who stated the cyclist was trapped under the wheels of the bus after the collision. The bus's windscreen was reported to be cracked, with bloodstains visible on the road.

  • Passengers: More than 20 people were on the bus at the time, but none of them were hurt.

Preliminary Cause and Investigation

Tower Transit confirmed its involvement in the accident and offered preliminary details on the collision's cause while extending condolences to the victim's family.

  • Tower Transit's Account: Based on preliminary information, a spokesperson for Tower Transit stated that the bus was traveling along Admiralty Drive when the cyclist moved across the road and into the bus’ path. The bus driver was unable to stop in time, leading to the collision.

  • Investigation: The 41-year-old bus driver is assisting the police with their investigations. Tower Transit affirmed it is working closely with the authorities and added that police investigations will establish the "full circumstances" of the accident.

  • Priority: Tower Transit emphasized that the safety and well-being of all road users and passengers remain their "utmost priority."

ICA Suspends Online Address Change Service After 80 Cases of Unauthorized Changes

  The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has suspended its electronic Change of Address (eCOA) service after uncovering about 80 unauthorized attempts to fraudulently change residential addresses using stolen or compromised Singpass accounts. The fraudulent activities targeted the “others” option in the eCOA service, introduced in October 2020 to allow proxies to assist individuals in updating their addresses online. This module has been temporarily disabled while the rest of the eCOA service is under review, slated to resume on Jan. 14 with enhanced security measures.
