Police Chase Ends with Driver on the Run After Hitting 4 Vehicles

A manhunt is underway for a driver who fled the scene on foot after being involved in a multi-vehicle collision in the Telok Blangah area on the morning of November 4. The incident began when police officers on patrol noticed a car that had mounted a kerb on Telok Blangah Drive at approximately 8:30 AM.

As the officers approached to check on the situation, the driver of the car suddenly accelerated and drove away, initiating a police pursuit. During the short chase, the fleeing vehicle collided with two cars, a van, and a public bus. Following these collisions, the driver abandoned the damaged car and escaped by running along Telok Blangah Hill. A search operation was immediately launched to locate the individual.

Video footage of the incident, which has been circulated online, provides a clearer sequence of events. The recording shows a police car stopped behind a bus at a traffic junction. An officer is seen rushing from the police vehicle. Moments later, a red car emerges from behind the bus, maneuvering onto the kerb and into the opposite lane to evade the officer before speeding away. The vehicle was identified as a rental car from a private company. Later in the video, the same red car is seen swerving on a road before rear-ending another bus, causing significant damage to its own front end and emitting smoke.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed it was alerted to a traffic accident near the junction of Telok Blangah Drive and Telok Blangah Street 32 at about 8:35 AM. A 48-year-old male driver involved in the accident was conscious when he was transported to Singapore General Hospital. A spokesperson for the public bus company stated that one of their buses was rear-ended while traveling in the left lane. Passengers on that bus were transferred to another vehicle to continue their journeys. Police also revealed that an electronic vaporizer was found inside the abandoned car, and this matter will be referred to the relevant health authority. Investigations into the entire incident are currently ongoing.
