Chopper and Suspected Drugs Seized in Bukit Panjang

On December 16, 2025, a significant law enforcement operation took place at a Housing and Development Board estate in Bukit Panjang, resulting in the arrest of three individuals. The incident occurred at Block 534 Jelapang Road, where a heavy police presence was observed during the morning hours. Witnesses reported seeing more than 10 police vehicles arriving at the scene at approximately 9:00am on Tuesday. The scale of the deployment drew considerable attention from residents, with several police cars lining the service road and a dedicated team of officers focusing their attention on a black Mitsubishi sedan parked at the base of the residential block.

The three individuals taken into custody included two men, aged 23 and 26, and one woman, aged 23. Following their apprehension, the suspects were seen handcuffed and seated separately on the ground below the block of flats as they awaited further questioning by investigators. The atmosphere at the scene was described as tense, and at one point, one of the male suspects became visibly agitated, shouting at the police officers present during the documentation process.

The investigation involved a meticulous search of the black sedan and the immediate surroundings. An investigator was observed documenting the interior of the vehicle, while other officers processed evidence found at the site. The items recovered from the scene were varied and serious in nature. Among the confiscated items was a chopper, which was reportedly wrapped in a pink cover, and a sharp object that appeared to be a Swiss Army knife. These weapons were placed on a sheet on the ground for official photography and forensic documentation.

In addition to the weapons, officers discovered a stack of approximately six different vehicle licence plates. These plates appeared to be brand new, with some still encased in their original plastic packaging. The presence of multiple licence plates led to further charges regarding the possession of property. Law enforcement authorities confirmed that they had originally been alerted to the location following a report of a physical altercation or fight occurring at Block 534 Jelapang Road.

The search also yielded several illegal substances and items. Suspected drugs and drug-related paraphernalia were uncovered at the scene. Furthermore, e-vaporisers were found among the belongings of the suspects. While the initial report involved a fight, no injuries were reported to the authorities following the arrival of the police.

The legal ramifications for the three individuals are extensive. All three were arrested on charges of carrying offensive weapons in public places and for suspected drug-related offences. Additionally, the 23-year-old woman and the 26-year-old man face further charges for the fraudulent possession of property, likely related to the numerous licence plates found in their possession.

Due to the nature of the items seized, multiple government agencies will be involved in the ongoing proceedings. The suspected drug-related offences have been formally referred to the Central Narcotics Bureau for specialized investigation. The discovery of e-vaporisers means that the related offences will be referred to the Health Sciences Authority.

The operation at Jelapang Road concluded after several hours of evidence gathering and suspect questioning. The black Mitsubishi sedan remained a focal point of the investigation until all relevant items were removed and logged. The police have confirmed that investigations into the full scope of the activities involving these three individuals are still ongoing. The sudden and large-scale police response serves as a reminder of the authorities' commitment to addressing reports of violence and the illegal possession of weapons and controlled substances within residential neighborhoods.
