A Singaporean freelance instructor, Alvina Lee Peiyu, has been sentenced to two months in jail for a negligent act that endangered a nine-year-old girl's life during a school ziplining activity.
Lee failed to properly attach the girl to the zipline, resulting in her falling 11 meters and sustaining fractures to her elbow, hip, and pelvis.
The incident occurred during an Outdoor Education Modular Programme, where Lee mistakenly used a cable tie instead of the proper attachment, causing the girl to fall.
The court emphasized the vulnerability of the victim and the need for utmost care in conducting such activities involving children.
