Police Arrest 21-Year-Old Suspect in Loanshark Harassment in Ang Mo Kio

A 21-year-old man has been arrested by the police for suspected involvement in a loanshark harassment case reported at a residential unit in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.

Following ground enquiries and camera footage analysis, officers from Ang Mo Kio and Tanglin Police Divisions apprehended the suspect on February 6, 2024.

Various items related to the harassment were seized from his home. The man is expected to be charged under the Moneylenders Act 2008, with penalties including fines, imprisonment, and caning for first-time offenders.

The police emphasize their zero-tolerance stance on loanshark activities and urge the public to refrain from engaging with loansharks and report any suspicions to the authorities.
