Police Arrest Suspect in Geylang Snatch Theft Case

A 31-year-old man was arrested by the police for his suspected involvement in a snatch theft incident along Lorong 25 Geylang.

The incident occurred on February 7, 2024, at approximately 5:16 PM, where the perpetrator allegedly stole a gold chain from a female victim. With the help of ground inquiries, CCTV footage, and Police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division swiftly identified and apprehended the suspect within three hours of the report.

The stolen gold chain was recovered as evidence. The man will face charges in court on February 9, 2024, under Section 356 of the Penal Code 1871, which carries a penalty of imprisonment ranging from one to seven years, in addition to caning.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to combat such criminal activities and bring offenders to justice.
