Man To Be Charged Over Lucky Plaza Assault

A forty seven year old man is scheduled to be formally charged in court on April 22 2026 following his suspected involvement in a violent altercation involving a thirty three year old woman. The legal action follows a police investigation into an incident that took place at a prominent shopping mall along Orchard Road. According to an official statement released by the police on April 21 2026 the man faces allegations of voluntarily causing hurt and committing acts of mischief. The case gained significant public attention after video recordings of the confrontation began circulating widely on various social media platforms.

The primary incident under investigation occurred on February 8 2026 in the vicinity of 304 Orchard Road which is the location of the Lucky Plaza shopping center. The police were officially notified of the alleged assault through a report filed on February 11 2026. Evidence of the conflict appeared in clips posted to the Complaint Singapore Facebook page where viewers could observe a man pursuing a woman on the sixth floor of the shopping mall. The footage captured the moment the man lunged at the woman with his leg causing her to fall to the floor. The force of the movement also caused the man to lose his balance and fall alongside her.

Witnesses at the scene were heard shrieking in distress as the events unfolded in public view. Additional video footage reportedly showed the man attempting to kick the victim again while she was still on the ground and unable to defend herself. As a result of the alleged attack the woman sustained injuries to several parts of her body and reported being in physical pain. Beyond the physical assault the man is also accused of causing damage to the woman's personal belongings during the same encounter.

Preliminary findings by investigators revealed that the two individuals were known to each other prior to the incident in February. The investigation also brought to light a previous history of conflict between the parties. It was discovered that the man had allegedly assaulted the same woman on a prior occasion specifically on March 30 2025. Following that earlier incident the police in consultation with the Attorney-General’s Chambers had issued the man a twelve month conditional warning on May 8 2025. This warning was related to charges of voluntarily causing hurt and mischief for his actions in the 2025 case.

A conditional warning typically requires the recipient to remain free of any further legal trouble for a specified period. However the authorities noted that the man breached the terms of this warning by allegedly committing these new offenses against the same victim in February 2026. Because the conditions of his previous warning were violated he will now face formal charges for both the original 2025 incident and the more recent 2026 attack. Consequently he will be produced in court on April 22 to face two counts of voluntarily causing hurt and two counts of mischief.

The legal penalties for these offenses are significant. Under the law an individual found guilty of voluntarily causing hurt may face a prison term of up to three years a fine of five thousand dollars or both. For the charge of mischief the potential punishment includes a jail term of up to two years a fine or a combination of both. The case highlights the serious view taken by the authorities regarding repeat offenders and the violation of conditional warnings especially in cases involving physical violence and public disturbances.
